Preparing to move...

We're spending our last few weeks in Virginia before making the big move back to Indiana.  We spent loads of time packing and preparing to leave, but also have found some quiet time for snuggling and playing and having fun.  North has been fabulous about making sure Quorra is happy.  They get along wonderfully.  She absolutely adores him.

Alan's been home this week packing - Quorra and North have loved getting to snuggle with him.

 We had Quorra try out the bumbo -- I think she liked it (though it's still a bit tricky for her to hold her head upright for very long or in a very controlled manner)

She loves when North gives her special attention.  Last week he crawled in the pack and play bassinet with her so that he could talk to her.  She loved it. 

 

 

 

In other news, this weekend we had a GIANT storm.  The trees in front of our townhouse sustained a lot of damage--1 fell onto a couple of our neighbors cars.  Thankfully no one near us was injured and we were one of the lucky areas to get our power back on in less than 24 hours.  Many areas have been told it will take several more before they again have power restored.  Here are North and Q posing with the downed tree and branches in front of our house earlier today.

Sometimes things get a bit silly in the Milner household.

2 months old - so many changes brewing

Since my last post, Quorra has turned 2 months old, North has turned 4, and I have gone back to work after my maternity leave (though I've accepted a new job [I'll be the managing director of evaluation, admissions for Teach for America] so will be back for only 5 weeks before leaving again).  We've also moved forward in purchasing a house in Indiana and firmed up our plans of North, Quorra, and I joining Alan there to FINALLY reunite our little family (only 6 more weeks apart, assuming all goes as planned!).
I've taken gobs of photos of North and Quorra during this time -- they get along great and Quorra smiles often.  Her little toothless grin is dazzling.  Her and North are doing fabulously together at Anju's each day, making my return to work drama free.
